Thread: Shutting down the Endo server

Hi all -

I need to shut down the Endo site in the next couple of months.

It resides on an older server that runs older code, and the
clients that subsidized it for many years have have moved on to
other platforms.

I guess the obvious option for setting up a message & media
group is taking it to Facebook. But I hate Facebook and don't
have any further advice on doing that.

Talk amongst yourselves!

Darin

This is a sad day. The death of Endo. Well the server at least.
Darin thanks for your 20 years of support.

Lately rides and skiing have been planned by Rob's (somewhat ill
timed and self serving) mass texts. All are welcome so let us
know if you want to be included.

For those waiting for spring rides, Tuesdays and Thursdays at
Btel and Mac Mills. And Sunday rides at Blue or elsewhere.

Also the school mtb challenge is May 18th. We will have the
usual practice rides the 4 Mondays prior to this.

https://eosmbc.weebly.com/

And we're looking to have two or three 24hr teams. One
hopefully with just kids!

Hope to see you on the trails!

Cheers to endo nation. Long live endo!

Pete

Mtbottawa and Kansas ended a long time ago as well... Pink bike
lasted some time as well... End of an era... Now it's all
Facebook - yuk... Hate Facebook...just another giant corporation
running the show selling your dats
A, stats etc.. And twitter.. Stupid mindless small talk for
dummies.... I miss forums.... They were informative yet
sometimes got full of bullsht...

Anyhow down in panama... Could be some great biking here, but
the roadways are full of careless nut cases... Up next Guatemala..
. Suppose to be some good riding there... Will see as of Tomorrow..
  30 sunny, loving it!

Facebook destroyed a lot of community sites...mtbkanata,
mtbottawa etc...let the big trees grow I guess, the don't do
much for the growth of the small brush.... Look at big media as
well, post media ate it all up now they want a bail out just
like the action plans of 2008 when the giants all fell hard...not
good to run the show on select few giants.. Leads to corruption,
contempt, complacency and lack of community input...loved forums
despite the political crapp... Hate Facebook and twitter.. Just
more giants running the show..small is good.. A healthy forest
has diversity and many small things flourishing.... We love our
giants though.....sad to see the forums going...

Darin,

Thanks from the Endo nation for managing the site all this time.
20 years is incredible with a lot of memories contained in the
message board.
Seems like yesterday we were all screaming PODIUM!, PODIUM! at
you at the 24 HOA.

Agree with others as I'm a Fakebook hater as well so no desire
to organize a page.

Thanks again.

Cheers,
Rob
